I have so much I want to say about AI and ChatGPT and none of it is good, or well-informed, so I'm keeping my mouth shut so far, but if I ever let loose it's going to be very personal, very erred, and showing of ugly cleavage. Thanks for showing some of yours, and I agree with everyone else, it looks good on the page, so keep it coming.

Thanks Rick. Do the rant! :) Good news: You will never be mistaken for ChatGPT output. No machine can match your personality, humor, and storytelling!

Thanks for the encouragement. ChatGPT also can't procrastinate and self-doubt like I can either!

A great reminder to be more human in our writing (and in general). Happy birthday to the dumb robot!

It reminds me of how Brene Brown says we often fear being seen as weak when we express our humanity and failures and faults and vulnerabilities. Yet if we look at others who have done the same, we consider them brave and strong.

I think about this a lot! I've even resisted a bit consistently implementing some of the learnings from WoP as a result. I keep feeling that if I get too polished it won't sound like me! It's almost like I'm stubbornly still just dumping my thoughts down without too much editing or picking out central theme and doubling down on that, precisely because it then comes across as human and imperfect... I see so many people talk about the blandness of GPT writing and I'd hate to be accused of that. I'm fully aware there's a happier medium and I just need to do more of what you've highlighted so eloquently here, and sprinkle in the bits of me that are obviously only me.

Place: Freshman English NYU. After being used as an example of submitting the worst essay in the class of 250, I have strived to improve my writing by expressing my thoughts or feelings as accurately as possible. Some times I hit the mark; some times not. I enjoy your struggles.

Be careful John. Express yourself too well but with no personality, and you might come across like ChatGPT output... 😉

Hahaha! I doubt THAT will ever happen. Thanks for the shot of confidence!
